Honestly these two Megas piss me off so much.

They're exactly the fucking same. The only cosmetic difference is the eye color. It's a waste of a slot to have two identical Megas.

They have different stats.
Latias becomes something objectively better.
Latios is better off with a Life Orb.

To be precise, XY will get an update with ORAS new megas and since M-Lati@s isn't officially revealed, GF could easily change their stats or design or basically everything. Just like they changed Chandelure's HA.

Since we have software updates now, there is no "mid-gen" anymore. They also never added battle items and in-battle forme changes mid-gen and they just did in ORAS.

Well while they could, it doesn't mean they would. Just like SSB4 could theoretically have an unlimited character roster but common sense dictates they'll have a cut-off point since there are only so many hours in a day, which means there's only so much time that's going to be put into a game's development without delaying it.

Having more and more Megas is extra work.

Shaymin-S reverts in-battle if it gets frozen, and the Griseous Orb was also new to Platinum.

That said, Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre have been shown using attacks that don't look like any existing moves found in X and Y, which has never happened mid-gen before.

They can just add whatever megas they want in later games. And the Lati@s are relatively popular, so they were going to get megas sooner or later.

If you want to complain about their designs being shit or not being creative because they're the same, it's a fair point, but complaining about their existence is just stupid.
