Help me set up my team/ competitive double battle battle thread

Okay I'm making a double battle team mostly based around the ability drizzle. I want your advice on moves/ ways to improve the team mostly because I'm casual as fuck and don't really know how to set one up properly.
Anyways here's the list:
1.Politoed w/ drizzle
2.Mantine w/ swift swim
3.Blastoise w/ rain dish
4.Lanturn w/ water absorb
5.Toxicroak w/ dry skin
6.Lapras w/ water absorb

You're going to want a contingency pokemon for weather teams; You Drizzle/Drought/Hail/Sandstorm mons and then a Pokemon holding a corresponding rock that extends the weather effect should the ability user's weather effect run or the ability user faints.

not every every pokemon on a rain team needs to be water type or with a specific rain abuser ability, it's a little too easy to exploit. add in 1 or 2 steel types for better resistances, as rain still reduces the fire weakness, obviously. mega manectric is already really good in doubles rain teams because of intimidate and a powerful 100% accurate thunder, but any electric type also fits well. I would replace lapras and mantine

Would klefki be a good steel type to throw in ?(steel/ fairy would be nice for dragon coverage and also for locking down pokemon with fairy lock)

I'm no expert and pretty new myself, but from my understanding you don't want to completely base your team around weather, at most you want to have the weather Pokemon (In your case Politoad) and then a Pokemon that benefits from the condition. You can also use rain to help any Pokemon you'd take who would otherwise be weak to fire.

I believe these are two useful articles. The first basically goes over some of the more popular Pokemon, their function, attacks, items, etc.

Second includes a nice checklist of you should probably be prepared for, help your team to counter or at least resistant to some of the more common strategies.

Alright here's my revised team thus far and their roles
1.Politoed w/ drizzle (opener for rain)
2.Toxicroak w/ dry skin (normal type counter)
3.Mega Mawile (general powerhouse)
4.Blastoise w/ rain disk (Healing wall)
5.Klefki w/ prankster (dragon counter/ lockdown)
6.Lanturn w/ water absorb (thunder spam after rain)

I may take out toxicroak in favor of a better pokemon but I'll need suggestions.
