Is there anybody close in the canon to becoming the "Pokemon Master?" My understanding of the definition of Pokemon Master is somebody who caught and tamed every single pokemon. I started watching the anime a long time ago, but at some point they completely dropped the whole "Pokemon Master" idea. I don't even think they capture wild pokemon anymore in the anime. They just have whatever they received as a gift.
In the main handheld games there are a lot of Pokemon Champions, people who beat the Elite Four and the previous Champion to become the strongest Pokemon Trainer in a region, but that doesn't necessarily mean at all that you've caught a lot of pokemon.
Is it even moral to become a Pokemon Master? There are one-of-a-kind legendary pokemon out there who don't want to be captured.
