On release. I hadn't played a Pokemon game since Emerald, but seeing the trailer come up on the NIntendo youtube channel made it click for me. Plus I wanted to play something new after being thoroughly disappointed in SMT IV. I rang up my little brother about which version exclusives seemed better, and I found out he didn't have a 3DS and was going to miss out on playing with his friends. I picked up a 2DS and a copy of Y and ran it over to him that afternoon. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

About 30 minutes after I picked it up with my girlfriend on my birthday morning. October 12th
However I spent almost two hours soft resetting, said fuck it and hosted a party that night, so I didn't get to actually play the game until the next day.
