I've thought about a Pokémon with an ability that kind of works like Metronome.

As in, the moment you bring it in battle it gets a completely random ability and keeps it for the rest of the battle.

I so fucking love when they put special quests pokemon who aren't legendary like mystery eggs or sudowoodo, the pichu event and the dancing cleafary on H/S, wynaut on 3d gen and drifblim on D/P I know there are more but I just can't help but love these things
I think they started with the voltorbs are pokeballs thing and then they started putting some story

It would have to be really weak to avoid the rare case it gets something that fits perfectly making it a warmachine, meaning most of the times it would be useless
also, how'd you know what it has if you forgot to pay attention?

They'd give a small notice like when an ability of something kicks in XY.

Also yeah, it would have a pretty mediocre stat spread and probably would be mono-type to not make it too overpowered.

How about this, you can pick out five different abilities ti might end up as, when it levels up it'll have more options
This would make for a lot of work for just one poke, but i don't see why not
