That's exactly right. 102 base Speed is a huge part of what makes Garchomp so dangerous. Hell, even a 2 point loss would've brought Garchomp's renowned speed down to merely being average.

Defogger/Spinner (Excadrill/Latios/Latias). That's all you need really and chances are you already have one on your team. It's why X is ranked higher than Y in singles since you can fit it easily into a team while Y needs more stuff to work. Not to mention other viable sets.

Something specially made to take out Bulky Grounds will be nice too but you can work around. A Cleric would work as well (Unaware physically defensive Clefable is great and my favorite partner for Char X).

Scarfed Breloom with Rock Tomb shits on Charizard Y. Charizard X is a little more beefy, but both are reasonably easy to predict and KO.

No one in their right mind would ever switch in breloom against charizard.

Charaizard is more likely to switch in after you have put one poke to sleep and that's the only opportunity to rock tomb.

Y can't sweep teams like X, he punches holes in things so you'll end up switching CharY a lot unless you use it as a suicide lead or something

Y gets walled by Chansey/Blissey, while X can just rip through physical walls
Y has no Spa boosting moves, while X can boost both attack and speed
Y doesn't get a special equivalent of Flare Blitz (120 BP, 100% acc), etc
