is anyone else here pissed off about mega evolutions? i mean its clearly a lazy way of not designing entirely new pokemon with new stats and attacks and what not.

i seriously think megaevolutions is killing pokemon

That's the beauty of Mega Evolutions. Since GF won't introduce new pokemon mid-generation, we have megas. Be real, the hype around ORAS wouldn't be as big if new megas weren't coming.

I'm torn between to be honest. On one side it's good to see a new element to the game and as someone above me said, less useful Pokemon becoming viable however I feel Megas will signal the end of cross-generation evolutions and some of the designs seem really fucking lazy.

Some pokemon are standalones, and they're fine. Skarmory.
Some pokemon are only two evos, and they're fine. Volcarona.
Some pokemon are "standard" three evos, and they're fine. Dragonite.
Some pokemon are either standalone (Mawile), two lined (Lucario) or three lined (Charizard) and yet, they're about in the same league. How's that for fucking near perfect balance?

I think mega evolutions are fantastic.
It allows old non viable pokemon to become viable again. It doesn't ruin the pokedex the order.

That shit is annoying when you're making a living dex.
Also some new evolutions of old pokemon look retarded like Rhyperior, Electivire, Magmortar, and Magnezone. Those are only a few examples.

Yeah it sucks the mega stone takes up an item slot, but o well not like you were going to use a regular charizard anyway.

I think Megas are good for two reasons.

1. Making shitmons viable
2. Making non-shitmons less predictable

Once a crapload of Pokémon have Megas, "Guess the mega" will be a lot more fun.
