Ice has always been my most favorite type, but being an Icefag hurts, so I'll go with being the Flying type since Swellow in my most favorite Pokemon.

nature:+SpD? or just pick one +Att or +Spd, -SpA
Double Team/Curse/an attack/something, maybe Rest if I'm using Bp

same thing I guess, DT/Cosmic Power/ an attack, stored power seems obvious, but my gut says Air Slash/Roost

I could be funny and have a modest Bibarel with charge beam and surf or something, but I doubt it's worth it unless that's a third pokemon

Face it. You can pick your team, but that's about it. The AI won't take instructions like "okay use protect on turn one and then if they can OHKO you Baton Pass right away but if they can't then maybe try to stick around for one more turn and also make sure you Baton Pass into Heracross because he's my signature pokemon"

I've been running a Red/Blue team from the very beginning. There's just so interesting about the both of them (and by proxy, probably all the player characters). They don't follow themes or types. They play with what's suitable for them. Red uses the Pokemon he met in his travels, the Pokemon that became his friends. Green/Blue does something similar, but picks the best and strongest.

Which is not to say he prefers Smogon over Karen philosophy. He still plays with his favorites. But like Red, he is not limited by others' expectations. He'll train an Alakazam, not because he's a Psychic trainer, but because fuck you.

I should probably clarify though - I don't generally use the same Pokemon they do, but similar type arrangements to cover my bases. I don't really care for Dragon-types or all those fancy competitive teams. I usually just pick up who I meet, train them to help me in my travels and Gyms, and that's my team. I have eternal slots open for a Grass-type, a Water-type, a Fire-type, a Flying-type, a Ground-type (preferably with Rock, x4 by ice but the combo really helps against Fire), and a wild card, usually Electric.

It's just good coverage, is all.

Whatever I'm doing, I'm going fast. If I don't get a new signature mega from ORAS (and nothing's piqued my interest terribly yet), Mega Manectric is gonna be my ace. Unless Mega Sharpedo is both a thing and is cool, in which case I'll probably use a Dark type gym with Mega Sharpedo as my Speed Boostin' ace pokemon.
