Patience and time. I got about 20 shinies using MM and I only hatch stuff during the weekends.

I was lucky last night while grinding.
Found a shiny weepinbel via horde.

Then a bit later while playing Civ 5 I found a shiny nidoran male, its a good thing I had stopped to let the camera pan, I hadn't seen the battle start and I had the music off so I couldn't here the sparkle.

Weepinbel was lonely natured
Nidoran was rivalry with a sassy nature.

First one was Modest, but I decided Bold was better, so I evolved it into PorygonZ
Second one was Bold with 30 in attack and 2-3 in SpA

I recently completed my dex so I thought I might as well breed some mons to use in battles. It's guaranteed to be 5IV, just the spread is unsure. I hope at least for speed and attack so I can use a Rock Polish/Autotomize+Weakness Policy set.
It also gets 2 Egg Moves, Reversal and Head Smash.
And of course it's one of the best shiny versions in the game.

I've actually gotten 2 Heart Scaled Luvdiscs, a Perfect Shiny Mewtwo with Pokerus, Perfect Shiny HA English Ditto with Pokerus, and a Verizion from the left over wonder trades.

It also makes anything I send out to Wonder Trade feel lest autistic when I'm not sending any ghastly with perfect Attack but no Special Attack. Hatch Eggs until you get a mon with better IVs than the one you're using, rinse and repeat until you have a second 6IV parent.

GTS General would probably be your best bet assuming you wouldn't want to ask someone in the PokeGen general to make you one.
Though in all likelihood it'll be hacked no matter where you get it from, since you can't breed them.

So I got powersaves and gave myself the oval charm and shiny charm.

The oval charm seems to work because eggs have been pumping out at breakneck pace.

But people say the shiny charm will not work because it's not registered in with the dex.

Any thoughts? I'm completing my dex right now, but I figured I'd just get the fake oval and shiny charms for lulz.

If the Oval one does, I'd assume the other would as well. The 'effect' is more likely to be triggered by the item rather than completing the dex.

You can complete the dex for days and not go get the shiny charm.

I'll see if my hunt ends around 400 eggs- the average smogon found with the shiny charm. Or I might just have shit luck.

Why can't I bring myself to get a 6IV Ditto?
I want to breed strong shiny bros, but it goes against my no cheating policy.

Breeding shinies takes the pain away, but now I want to make competitive shiny Pokemon and it's just too frustrating and time consuming

I have 5iv'd mons covering the rest of the groups.

I used to have similar thoughts.

I kinda pushed past that and accepted that a 6IV ditto really isn't that much of a cheat. Your shinies are still genuine, it's just the time taken to get two decent IVed parents for said shiny has been shortened by a little.

Lucky I got told that now. Still may not mean anything if it has to be generated on an entirely foreign game, rather than just a different language, but that's the price one pays for a clean conscience.
