The crux of the matter is that all NPC's Pokémon have no way of getting EV points. This isn't a problem at the beginning/early-middle stages of the game, where the Player's EVs won't provide that much of an advantage. The project fizzled and crashed when I reached Brycen. I gave his pokemon incredibly high IVs, synergistic movesets and excellent type coverage. And despite the fact that Brycen's pokemon were all 4-5 levels higher than the playtesters', they had inferior stats due to a lack of EVs.

At this point I saw two options: I could give enemies higher and higher leveled 'mons relative to the player's team to compensate for the lack of EVs. But they'd be giving out higher amounts of experience, resulting in higher levels for the player, meaning I'd have to bump the enemy levels even HIGHER relative to the player in an upwards spiraling "EXP Inflation"

The other option, which has just occurred to me now, would be to level the playing field by removing EVs from the players. I could set every pokemon to award 0 EV points, and remove every Protein, Carbos and Calcium this side of Sinnoh.

This would be taking something very fun away from the game, but I can't think of any other ways to balance this shit.

I haven't played blaze/volt to the end, so I don't know how Drayano handled it. I'd imagine he'd just let the levels run rampant, but ultimately I'm not sure.

Another thought would be to make 1 or 2 unobtainable pokemon per Boss. By removing the Beartic line from the wild, I'd be free to raise the base stats of a pokemon that the player will never get his hands on. The downsides to this are obvious.

I've designed this mod as a "Hard Mode", though. The battles are tougher, the opponents are smarter and you can't use Revives in combat. This is for people who want a challenge, and I may not be able to provide that challenge without hashing this problem out.

No on e properly EV trains for the in game battles. People just kill anything, with no concern for what EV they give. So you would not remove any 'fun' by removing EV

On one or two pokemon? Most certainly. On every pokemon you'll ever knock out? That'd be waaaaaay too time-intensive. I like your thinking though.

Remove the EV system. Like the other anon said, nobody does it for the main game. Also, people are supposed to be playing your romhack for the challenge, so of course you'll be getting rid of stuff (like the Revive comment up there). 'Fun' in your hack theme is 'hard as fuck'.
