It somehow feels different from when HGSS was announced (remember than BW was already in development when HGSS development started, they didn't plan on making them at first, ORAS feels like they've accepted that they make a remake each generation). HGSS was clearly lovingly crafted, expanded on the originals while respecting them, actually had celebi travel in time for the first time in game canon despite it appearing on the dex for years, and more or less explained what the unown are. Add the return of move tutors, bug fixes and following pokemon and I think it's fair to say they're one of the best entries in the series. ORAS somehow feels more formulaic, HGSS were announced to have pokewalker, following pokemon, etc... since the beginning, ORAS seems like it's not even going to have the iconic battle between Groudon and Kyogre.
