Easier to make a special nidoking than physical with its huge special movepool, most of its physical attacks don't benefit from Sheer Force like Earthquake, and those that do are either shit or are move tutor moves, namely elemental punches.

what covers fireblast?
you have sludge wave for grass types, earth force for steel types. Bug type is barely a thrat and ice types could be a reason, but thunderbolt adds more coverage against water types
now that I think of it it boils down to preference or what threats the team, ice or water types

But don't use an unreliable move such as miss blast, I rather use flamethrower

thunderbolt barely hits anything in OU. electric+ice isn't as potent as a combination when you have 4 moves for coverage. thunderbolt is better for UU I think though because of how common things like blastoise and slowbro are

Sheer Force totally negates Life Orb recoil. There is literally no reason to run Expert Belt on a Sheer Force Nidoking when Life Orb is a thing.
