There's no doubt that it's slow and fragile, which are it's two big weaknesses. It's an offensive powerhouse with, 120 base attack and Adapatability make it terrifying to fight against. Literally nothing can switch into it without losing half its HP and its held item from Knock Off. If you can baton pass an Agility or two onto it it will sweep entire teams single handedly.

He can bulk pretty well non SE moves, get the Knock Off, and then finish with Aqua Jet.
Similarly, with HP invested EVs Crawdaunt can be used as a bulky Trick Room Sweeper.

In Trick Room you'd want to use Waterfall over Crabhammer for the better accuracy and chance to flinch.

Unless you're using CB Darmanitan or CB Victini (no priority, and Ninetales is really awful/Y-Zard hogs its own sun) Banded Crawdaunt in rain is the most powerful thing you'll ever use. Like it one-shots Skarmory with a neutral move. It's ridiculous.

Adaptability boosts STAB moves from 1.5 to 2 times the damage.

Tough Claws would boost a STAB move by 33% of the already 1.5 times damage multipler.

33% of 1.5x would equal a little under 2x.
This making the difference almost insignificant when it comes to using STAB moves.

All I've read are broad generalization and someone mentioning Scizor, who can only fuck up Crawdaunt with Fighting Type moves. Hell, KB Scizors can only use Brick Break and Rock Smash.

One popular Pokemon doesn't equate to getting "far more" out of the investments.

I've used a Agility+SD Kingler a lot with hammer and knock off. People expect it to be scarfed I guess so they dont see it coming and are careless around it which sometimes allows me to get an SD and Agility and unless they have something like Thunderous he usually sweeps.

Scizor can screw Crawdaunt up with a U-turn.

That said, with Jolly nature, Crawdaunt can outspeed jolly non-Scarfed Garchomp, so going 252Atk/252Spe is never a bad idea.
