Even if Rhyperior is burned it can destroy Talonflame given the chance, so you can easily force Talonflame out as many times as it takes. As long as you have Rhyperior around, Talonflame can't do shit to you

The problem with that strategy is that talonflame can roost off any damage it takes from anything else while rhyperior can't heal itself.

Rhyperior gets worn down reeeeal fast by burn damage and brave bird switch ins

Doesn't matter if it gets worn down when it kills one or two Pokes before that. SD + U-Turn can be really amazing and catch a lot of things of guard that do not expect ot, e.g. TTar.

I can only speculate banded is so popular is because it's a free steroid on a pokemon that pretty much has a scarf on crack. Do remember that elo rating isn't that hard to get to. There's a lot of copypasting sheep out there.

Life orb does plenty of damage actually. It still manages to outdamage every priority user bat azumarill and larry the lobster crawdaunt. Personally, I think the extra versatility life orb and lefties provides is far more useful than a powerful revenge killer that the metagame has plenty of.
