I'm not saying it don't have a point or it's not interesting, but they're taking recognizable features/color schemes and putting them on entirely different bodies so that you're tricked into thinking they unlocked some formula.
The only one that's truly representative is Gen I--half the mons were generic stalky reptiles, even when they were mammalian.
