People seem to have this feeling that "if you don't like it, don't use it" is an acceptable justification in this context. I mean, it works when we're talking about, for example, Gothitelle vs. Volcarona, because I'm not (necessarily) putting myself at a disadvantage by picking more beautiful of the two, Volcarona. On the other hand, I don't want to disadvantage myself mechanically by using Lickitung over Lickilicky, but I don't want to use an ugly pokémon - so into the trash they go.
One thing I don't understand is why I don't feel this way when comparing, say, Pidgeot to Swellow. Even if one's better mechanically, I won't feel bad about using the other.
