Seeing as how those games aren't very shone friendly, I'm curious to know if it actually happened to anyone else.

My bro found a goddamn shiny Makuhita while playing normally through Colosseum. Only I witnessed it, and it happenned years ago, but I remember it very well.
It was green. It went back to normal when he caught it (since it changes OT when caught, the PID doesn't match a shone's anymore, and it loses it).

Some time later with the power of the interwebs my other bro looked up Makuhita's sprites and it was nothing like it was in Colosseum, and to this day he still thinks we're rusing him.

Maybe it's because my parents married at the beginning of their 30s, but I have never undertood why people wants to get married and start having kid just finishing college. I hated the people in SoCal, very stuck up and entitled, and didn't take life very serious. Granted, I lived in Orange County. But I moved out here, made some great friends, have a real life. And MD is raising their min wage, meaning regular wages will see an increase to keep up with demand.

It's dead hours, so we're not really disrupting much. I could not get treatment for a long time, until the ACA passed. Once I could see my doctors regularly it took trying several types and combos of meds before I found my magical formula. But I'm so much happier now. Good luck with whatever your future holds ^_^

Last gen I traded my way up to having 5 boxes of shinies without ever finding one myself, I was perfectly happy with using none-OT ones.

Seriously, I got long chains while looking for my croagunk no problem - but in the big route 5 lavender patch, I can't get a chain above two. Different pokemon appear in the crazily shaking grass to the one I'm chaining.

My only current explanation is that perhaps chaining for common pokemon is a lot easier to maintain. Or I can't judge the shakes suddenly, but I don't think that's it. Any thoughts?

I had a few exceptionally long chains with croagunk. In this patch of grass, I can't chain at all without a wild poke coming up - so I go back to route 7, and croagunk is once again easy to chain.

It could just be horrible RNG, but it doesn't feel like it so far. I'll carry on testing.

With my skiddo chains, I would give into the online superstition of grass shakes to be 4 tiles away in order to keep the chain going - and even that didn't work. Really quite odd.

I mean, there aren't any ripped stats or figures from radar chaining, are there?

Not according to my experience. Only ripped/calculated data can confirm, and I haven't found either of those yet.

I'll give it another few shots in the lavender patch to see how it goes. It just doesn't explain why chaining was so easy on route 7.

I'm currently chaining in the forest for a noctowl to test it out a bit more. Once again, it's pretty easy - walk into any patch of decently shaking grass, noctowl pops out.

I'm currently thinking that the lavender flowers are either harder to chain in, or I'm just not particularly good at judging them.

Dive is always a safe option. I can't remember the net balls opening animation, but I think dive suits it nicely with aesthetic and animation.

Is that something you'd care about? I tend to pick the balls for their animations as opposed to the colours.

Alright, I'm on chain 21 of the noctowl hunt. I'm still walking straight into patches of grass right next to me, and there doesn't appear to be any problem.

I'll try again with the lavender once I get this noctowl/break the chain. I do hope it's just down to my awful judgement, I really would like to nab a furfrou/skiddo.

Is it confirmed that the shiny rate is increased on your birthday? I remember seeing threads about this when the game first came out.

If so, has anyone tried changing their birthday on their 3DS to manipulate this?
