It really isn't that bad of an idea to take suggestions from Smogon, as that is what the site is for, but like anything you should try to add your own spin on it when you make your teams, so they reflect on your play style.

As long as they have perfect IVs in the appropriate stats, the proper nature, and EV training invested accordingly.

I can give examples, Persian and Ambipom are literally the same exact Pokemon with the similar movepools, abilities, and typing. The only difference is that Ambipom has better defenses and a much better attack stat hence completely outclassing it.

It's all about how a trainer trains them or gens them if you want to be "that guy".
It doesn't matter what the stats and movepools are if one trainer doesn't utilize them properly and accordingly to planned and unplanned situations.

I know you guys don't understand this, but smogon usually tries to find a niche for most all fully evolved pokemon. That's why they do analyses and also why tiers exist, so that pokemon have a place to shine.

Also it's kind of hypocritical when karenfriends hate on someone for using OU pokemon because those could very well be OU pokemon they like. (And smogonites encourage people to use lower-tier stuff all the time -- like Alomomola, which is one of my favorites).

I think if you care about Pokemon you should care about pushing the game forward and making things more interesting for the online community by using Pokemon and movesets that are rarely if ever used.

If I see a typical smogon pokemon I will just spam double team until they ragequit. I would rather prefer to play some interesting battles instead of having to use the same old checks and counters.
