What are some "weak" Pokemon you've never used but after trying them out they turned out to be in your opinion good.

Surprisingly good at taking hits despite those stats. Always had Lanturn among my high favorites but since I only started battling online this gen I kind of thought it would've fared terribly. It doesn't have the Earthquake immunity, Will o' Wisp or higher offenses/speed like Rotom-W but Heal Bell, Scald, Ice Beam and especially Volt Absorb for handling things like Thundurus, Zapdos, Rotom-W and Mega Manectric carve a decent niche for it.

In one of my gen 2 playthroughs I randomly decided to use a Kingler and he kicked major ass. He's been a staple of my Johto teams ever since.

How does it's in-game movepool suck? Breeding for moves for it are easy as fuck. Play rough destroyed any fighting type that may threaten it.

I could have gave less than two shits about Beedrill back in the day, but now he's honestly one of my favorite Bug types. He actually has a decent movepool (though I'm waiting for Drill Run via tutor) and has always had a cool design.

Now that he has 90 base Attack he actually can hurt some stuff, though his 70 Speed really drags him down. With a Speed nature, a Scarf, and good IVs he actually does decent in-game and in causal play.

One of my friends wanted help making a Cacturne set, so I did some experimenting on Showdown.

Cacturne actually fared pretty well, and it was easy to pull off Water Absorbs.

Mihtyena needs a proper evo and so does linoone. They both have a 425BST.
Raise its attack and defense by 30 and it would be a top threat in UU.
Same goes for linoone who sadly can't use its special set thanks to base 60SpA.

Just like every early rodent.

I highly doubt that any of the rodents + Mightyena are going to get Evolution/Mega. They're just not builded for that, they're like the early low-class equipment of the other JRPG, that later, you replace with the high-powered things.
