But as you can see these aren't remakes of Emerald, but of R/S.
Just as FR/LG were remakes of R/G and not Yellow.
And in that same game that you posted, Red kept his Yellow team.

I don't why people are so adamantly against Wallace being champ because of the whole "lel nope only RS remakes, nothing from Emerald" when we'll be getting pretty much everything from Emerald except the Magma/Aqua combo, and even then we don't know that entirely. Steven does the same thing in both games the only difference in Emerald is you fight him post-E4

I have confidence in the rematches. They are almost cemented as a regular feature now. Or at least I think it would be a shame to not have Wattson have a third gen poke as his lead. Then again, that may prove to be a moot point now that an E4 has a lead ABOVE their generation.

I'm glad we're getting scald as a TM instead of water pulse now. Water Pulse was a huge disappointment as a late-game TM since we already had surf and while scald is weaker at least it's useful in competitive.

I figured the only way they could justify it is if they worked similar to the way they did in Emerald. They get stronger the more levels you have. This way, you can have Juan replace Wallace right away and have his initial gym team, which I checked, it is feasibly slightly stronger than Wallace's. Then, each successive one follows Juan's progression to his strongest team, and Wallace gets the upgrades that he does when you rematch the E4.

That's one indicator. If they show Juan as the gym leader in CoroCoro leaks, then something is obviously up, and Wallace will probably be champ, but if they show him, and he has his champion cape, then other shit might be up, like the whole post-game champion switch idea.

My hope is that either both teams get awakened, Rayquaza scene, but then your cover legendary goes Primal and you have to catch it. Or, post-game, the other team shows its true colors and Awakens their legendary and have it go primal, yours goes primal and you can't control it, and then Rayquaza scene.

Same, contests were never my favourite either.
