Well, since Nintendo is well over 100 years old, I don't think it's possible to accurately predict how wildly different the world would be.
If you're just talking about video games, well, that was a dead industry when the Famicom was launched, to the point where Nintendo was trying to avoid calling it a video game console.

Games died with the crash of the industry that Nintendo would have otherwise revived.

Playing cards are more-or-less the same, maybe more popular in the void of video games, albeit without the Pokemon TCG.

Digimon was gonna happen either way, the V-Pet thing existed at about the same time.

Its funny because nowadays Pokemon rips off Digimon and a world where Digimon is popular would have been far better

Sonic and especifically his first game were builded with Speedrunning Mario World.

Or at least that said Naka in some interviews before 2006.

There's a chance gaming never picked up as big as it did due to Nintendo not being there to help out the 1983 crash. Maybe Sega takes the helm and becomes what Nintendo pretty much was during the NES era, or maybe nobody does and video gaming end up just becoming a fad. There'd probably still be people who play games in the latter case, but it'd be a really niche thing and there wouldn't be many companies to make them.

The crash was a decline. It didn't wipe all video games off the face of the planet a la the meteor that hit the dinosaurs, it just made the market a lot less profitable as a lot of people lost faith in the quality of games.

If nintendo didn't save the video game market at that point, someone else would have, althoug a lot later - maybe as late as the mid nineties.

If that happened, then we'd be playing ps2-tier games right now, and 3d cg films might not have advanced nearly as much as they have right now.

I make that point specifically because apparently video games is what pushed the graphical advancement of computers, so if games are set back, so would movies, and probably a lot of other things.

Hard to say. Video games, especially Pokemon, have been a noticeable part of my life. Considering that Nintendo had a huge impact on video games and indirectly everything related to it, it would probably change a lot.
