I'm sorry, research on pokemon breeding is strictly prohibited by the Pokemon League. All breeding centers are closely monitored, and while an enclosure is permitted for the benefit of the pokemon, no one is ever allowed inside, not even the owners. All I've been able to find out is that whatever happens does not happen in the open. All attempts to observe it in the wild are met with tons of inquiries and I'm pretty sure they burn all such research. My professor kept a personal file detailing his observations, but he never told me where, for if anyone found out about it, the League would cut off his research grants and possibly revoke his license. He does it because he does not believe pokemon science should be limited in this fashion, but the League refuses to acknowledge anything that a child would not be able to understand. This is the only reason why it's difficult to even become a professor, as the League will not even allow you to study pokemon unless it's to write on and on about fairly innocuous things. If you question even one thing, out you go. My professor has another secret, though. They have to permit field research, but due to the risks involved, the League allows you to do this in your own fashion. It's one of few ways to avoid the ever watchful eyes of the research board. I'm sure there are others, but I'm sure they are met by similar hazards. The League DOES expect a full report on your return, although if done correctly, they cannot tell if said reports are altered or falsified in any way. The professor has grown skilled at casting reasonable doubt into them, as they can prove nothing, but it is difficult to do if you are inexperienced. He is pleased with my efforts, though, and I hope one day, I can be as esteemed as he is.
