giftmon are always really good in game, and predictable. the whole point is that you don't necessarily get what you want and have to work with what you get.

i'm pretty sure you're only allowed to breed one mon, wherein the breeder counts as the 'area' for that egg

If there's fishable water in the town but you hatch an egg instead, you're choosing to hatch over fishing up a potential future Gyarados, so it counts.

How about this: as long as you have taken losses such that you have less than 6 team members when you make it to a town, you may breed one pokemon each time you enter a new town for the first time.

w-what counts as overleveling

i'll often grind 5 levels or so on my entire team when it feels like i'm behind. even nuzlocke himself grinded a little.
