Almost all the episodes before Johto had some actual effort and soul put in them.

Then it became shit. People say it got better with the last seasons, though.

The ending of Diamond and Pearl were pretty awesome though. Only try to watch the League-centered episodes and the Team Galactic/Pokemon Hunter J focused episodes.

Avoid Best Wishes/Unova at all costs. The first 20 episodes were building up for something good, but they fucked it up horribly.

XY has been great though.

I don't get why people have so many feels watching Bye Bye Butterfree and Pikachu's Goodbye.
IMO, A Poached Ego and Charizard's Burning Ambitions are way more sentimental and touching.
