>>20063613Basically this for level curve.
Gym 1: 10
Gym 2: 20
Gym 3: 30
Gym 4: 40
Gym 5: 45
Gym 6: 50
Gym 7: 55
Gym 8: 60
E4: 70
Champ: 75-80
All the gyms are equally far apart, but after a while it gets harder to level up.
Leaders also need fuller teams earlier on, I think by the 3rd Gym you should be having real matches, that's long enough to really develop your own team.
>>20063709I think having tons of revives and full restores is kept in balance well enough by the badges unlocking shop items. If the pacing is well enough, you wont be able to buy those items till close to end game. As for limiting teams, I disagree, I think that having a 6 mon team should be possible from the get go if you're willing to grind their asses.
Also leaders should have better move pools than simply what is normally available to them by that level plus a TM. Gym leaders are professionals, the should have breeding moves, tutor moves, and TMs in their arsenal as well.
Also rework what levels Pokemon evolve at and learn moves at.
So for instance your starter:
Froakie >LV 20> Froagadier >LV50> Greninja
This way you spend a lot more time with each stage, and also spread out the move learning accordingly, but at the same time give all Pokemon more diverse movepools.
As it is, we have so many moves with pretty much the same BP and effects, and lots of pokemon learn them a few levels apart.
Think Bubble>Water Gun>Bubble Beam>Water Pulse
I say spread these out, and diversify them better
