I know how it works - and the sheer number of combinations - typing/moveset/statwise would be so chaotic that everything would move around weekly.

keeping track by usage could be done, but any attempt to make specific strategies for specific combos would become impossible and probably not worth the hassle.

Fusions have been in the series since gen 1.

Fusions would be neat for pokemon with direct counterparts, like Plusle and Minun, hitmonchan and hitmonlee, Escavalier and Accelgor.

I'm not talking bout Pokemon, talking bout games in general. But older Pokemon games where harder than modern games. The first stretch of the game was quite difficult for a new player. Also the game is quite open on the middle so you can get lost if you never played the game.

They were more easy compared to other games but still even the newer games are more easy than the first ones. For starters the Exp Share, 3 pokemon per gym, no trainer with more than 4 Pokemon except the Champion and the Rival in the post game.

The whole concept of changing forms because you grind enough or a magic item isn't exclusive to Pokemon. Many Jap mon games do this . I'm saying both are similar, and the maymay "Don't do this because Pokemon ain't Digimon" gets sillier and sillier everytime pokémon adds new features. Like megaevolutions, something completely different than the previous evolution concept. Yes, Pokémon is not Digimon but the game is going to change and add whatever feature GameFreak wants, no matter what you think about it being similar to Digimon.

what angry man means is that in digimon games the evolutions are pretty much like the ones of the Hitmons. You have a lot of branches to different evolution lines depending on the stats of your digimon before it reaches the time to evolve.

just make certain obvious combinations of pokemon in breeding make a cross-breed that's it's own pokemon afterwards
or maybe even make it more general, like breeding a female pokemon with a specific type of male would make a special baby
