Why is Transform Mew never used in competition? It seems like it would be a tricky play.

Ditto has bad stats though. Also Ditto can't learn other moves.

The stats don't really matter except for the HP stat, but since Mew will take damage on the turn it uses Transform, imposter Ditto is just as good if not better.

Well, depends what you wanna Transform into. Usually you'd go for the Mega because of obvious reasons, and Megas are known to be pretty offensive save a few. But yeah I guess if you transform into something else, and with the surprise factor, it could work, but I'm not sure it'd be all that useful.

Because using a Pokémon that requires you to sacrifice a turn just to get a Pokémon that might not sync with your team, that you don't have full control over what it becomes and that has limited PP is way worse than just adding a normal Pokémon instead.

in doubles I've seen people transform into their own mega kangaskhan with smeargle

I do this and have pretty good success its fun

Hilarious to watch, incredibly ineffective at high level play. Smeargle Kangaskhan can be great at high level, but holy hell transform is a terrible move.
