synergizes exceptionally well with a Gyarados who only knows bite and splash.

Point was that there is very little that wouldn't work in-game. Typh is a special attacker with little movepool diversity, so that derpy set would probably still get you through the e4.

Whats a better alternative to Swift?
Not trying to start an arguement just curious because Typhlosion is my favorite pokemon and I want one with a /vp/ approved moveset.

I didn't tell you not to use swift, I was pointing out how stupid you were for' /vp/ approved'.

But if you're serious, just go Flamethrower, Thunderpunch, Focus Blast and Eruption.

Replace Thunderpunch with Will o' wisp if EV trained.

It's not tough to think of your own movesets. Based on its stats, Typhlosion is a pretty fast special attacker, so give it special moves. STAB moves are good because they are stronger than normally would be, and after that just mix up the types of moves when you can for coverage—if it can learn something to kill types it's normally weak against, teach it those (why people are saying ThunderPunch), and after that moves that will kill lots of shit with high BP like EQ or Focus Miss, or are neutral like Swift or Shadow Claw.
