So, /vp/, explain to me what I'm doing wrong. When I'm breeding a Pokemon, I get 2 perfect IVs, no problem. So I move to a third power item (or even the Destiny Knot) and try for 3+ IVs, but I can never get past 2. What am I doing wrong? Pic only slightly related.

Are you using the offspring? You won't get anywhere breeding the parents over and over, also, time is a big point

The Zubat is an offspring, I have 3 Dittos covering the 6 stats between them.

I guess I'm not being patient enough, then. I've been at it for a day or two (probably only 4 hours total, been busy and doing it in off time). It's just discouraging. Back to it then.

That seems like a long time. I started breeding for 5iv Vulpix. I think I started with a Vulpix and ditto with 2 perfect ivs each. I gave one of them a destiny knot and the other had nothing. I probably went through about 12 Vulpix before I got an opposite gendered one with 3 perfect ivs. I switched that in for ditto and resumed. Another 15-20 Vulpixes later I had a 4 iv Vulpix that I switched in for the 2 iv. I gave it the d.knot again and went to work. If you can get 2 4 iv pokemon breeding then it doesn't take long to get a 5 iv. 6 is much harder but 5 will usually suffice.

It's a bit tedious but 4 hours seems like too long, you should have made it to a 3iv offspring within an hour. Really about half that unless you've been exceptionally unlucky.

Destiny knot on ditto, power item on zubat to transfer either attack or Defense.
that will almost certainly give you 3IV zubat (1 from power Item, MOST LIKELY 2 from destiny knot, retry 1 or 2 times till destiny knot transfers 2).
Take the baby 3IV zubat and give destiny knot, other power item to transfer other perfect IV stat from your original zubat.
try a few times and you should get 4IV zubat (3 from destiny knot, 1 from power item).
repeat process with new baby and a new breedable pokemon that has missing IVs.
DONE.

it's a boring, long, shitty process. But it's the quickest way to perfect 6IV pokemon.
