>>20094899After running some calcs, if Mega Sableye got a 40 boost to def, 30 to satk and 30 to sdef then it's going to be an interesting mega. If GF goes full retard and gives it 30 attack or 30 speed instead, I can see it still being a little decent.
If it gets good stats, the fucker using priority Calm Mind on its first turn can screw over a lot of special attackers. Prominent special attackers like Alakazam, Greninja, Lat@s, Thundurus and most importantly Aegislash all become set-up bait and forced out by recover spam (since you get more health back than they can do damage per turn). You also get a lot of chances to cripple or set-up on physical attackers using that def and burn. The right EV spread can change what it can set-up on.
You don't even need to mega evolve right away on things like Greninja with the right EV spread. Priority Calm Mind the first turn and only LO Hydro Pump can 2HKO you. Just priority recover until it misses/he switches and you come out on top with nearly full health and +1 satk/sdef.
Usual Special attackers you shouldn't be setting up on are Mega Charizard Y, Sylveon, Clefable, specs Keldeo and Sheer Force LO Landorus. As for the physical side, rest talk Mega Gyarados, Talonflame, CharX, Mega Mawile and drum/band Azumarill. After you've got 1 or 2 boosts though, forcing you out with a check is hard due to no haze/whirlwind/roar/toxic stall. Watch out for the blobs, Snorlax or Pyroar though. DD Char X and Mawile can check you too.
I'll probably use it as a gimmicky sweeper like Unaware Calm Mind Clefable. Shuts down certain dangerous things, gets screwed over royally by certain counters but unstoppable once conditions are right. Using it on a Baton Pass team might be interesting too like that smogon chain that got banned.
