pokemon now have a fatigue meter
sending them out, attacking and staying in battle too long all build up the meter
it will empty if left out of battle for a while

once the meter is full the pokemon loses access to its ability and all are stats lowered slightly for a short time
and any mega demega evolves for the rest of the battle
each mon has its own fatigue meter level, so things like garchomp would tire quicker than a shittier mon like flygon
you can EV train in fatigue and trade stats for longevity

I hate this idea, but at the same time it'd be a great addition. It's very complex, but if anything would radically alter the metagame, this would be it.
The very concepts of sweepers and walls would be completely changed, as they'd lose the ability to do things after a set amount of turns. Weaker Pokémon would gain use because they tire out more slowly.

I hate to play devils advocate, but this is possibly the best idea for Pokémon I've heard in a long time.

Provided it doesn't work by resetting the 'tired' meter after a single switch-out. Suppose a badly fatigued Pokémon would need a certain amount of turns in storage to 'rest' before it can be called out again.

Also have it so not only certain Pokémon tire at certain rates but certain moves also cause a lot of fatigue, like status and overly powerful moves, as well as force switch-out attacks. Otherwise you could just spam Volt Switch/U-Turn over and over and never tire.

Another new ability that brings Gravity for 10 turns, Gigalith gets it.
In doubles you are now facing 100%+ accurate Stone edges, fire blasts and blizzards from two really bulky mons that are moving at the speed of light.

In terms of stat drops, yeah pretty much, although the stat drop going through clear body/contrary would be a bonus.

I had an idea like this that would be a Fire type Aqua Ring but instead of healing you it damages opponents making contact with you based on Type. So Tyranitar uses Crunch, it loses 6%HP. Lando-T uses Knock Off, 12%. Aegislash uses Shadow Sneak, 25%. Scizor uses Bullet Punch, 50%. It would make for sweet shenanigans.

The rules of Priority change. Instead of a move having +1 priority outspeeding any other move, it instead equates to a temporary +1 boost in speed, but only for that move. For instance, a Pokémon that uses Agility for a +2 boost in speed is always faster than a base stat Pokémon that uses Quick Attack.
