Pokemon isn't fun anymore general.

I don't like doing Nuzlocke but need to get through the game to do metagame shit :/ how do I make it fun?

a few options:

1) put it down, wait a few months. this can really do wonders.
2) forget about the meta for a minute. take a team of bros and go for a walk. play in amie. go eat at a restaurant. do some clothes shopping. make it an adventure.
3) try a monotype, or get a team based on 6 pokemon eggs you get from /vp/

i was thinking of doing it but i'm 2 gyms into X (nuzlocke not enjoying) and don't wanna do the beginning again

see the thing about nuzlockes for me is i dont really get attached to my pokemon if they aren't the one i wanted in the route no matter how hard i try. i mainly get upset that i'll need to train up another pokemon from the box

Dodge trainers, I cant get behind grinding endlessly in the old games where xp isnt really optimized only to lose things to crit and random chance, so I havent really fully been able to get behind nuzlocke runs.

But I made my run of X/Y maybe my hardest pokemon run ever, by skipping all optional trainer battles so that everything was 5-10 levels above you, combined with spamming items like its dragonquest.

I combined this with a mystery egg run.

You end up having to fuck over your idea of what your gonna use your pokemon like to tackle challenges as you go along. Theres no limit on using healing items, but because you dont have a cash flow because your skipping trainers, they're constantly rare resources.

i've been wondertrading the whole time i've been watching this thread and i just got a mewtwo for a treecko which is sick. (i didn't want the treecko cause i don't wanna use 3rd gen mons before the remakes)

Basically- use the mons of the antagonist and see how you fare? I think there's more to it...I can't remember.

I like to go back and use E4 teams for myself and see how those do, too.

Or, play something else. Or take a walk. Maybe read a book.
