65/60/110 defenses. Special defenses are passable, but with that Defense and HP, Flareon easily dies to almost any STAB Physical hit.
Pure Fire Typing isn't the best. It's weak to common attacking types (Basically Water and Ground)
Pure Fire Typing leaves it exposed to every entry hazard, not to mention it loses 25% of its health from stealth rocks
Not enough HP to reliably use Flare Blitz. You can use it maybe 3 times max, but if you OHKO another 'Mon, the recoil will take away about 33-50% of your HP.
It all adds up to being a let-down of a pokemon. I've trained one myself with Flame Charge, Flare Blitz, Shadow Ball, and Quick attack, and it just doesn't last long enough to get much use out of.
