From a competitive standpoint, it just doesn't measure up, but it has potential. If it was born in Gen V it would have been outstanding thanks to Hydration. It's supposed to be bulky with SpDef, having the highest SpDef out of the Pseudos, but it lacks a good typing and moves (no reliable recovery, for instance). Move Tutors could help its cause though, and a Mega will definitely help too. From... another standpoint, everyone hates it because there's one shitposter who ALWAYS has to post about how it's a Male.

There are, but the problem is... the Kalos Pseudo is supposed to be a defensive Pokemon, and if it had a secondary typing, that would help its cause much better. A monotype Dragon just does not cut it nowadays, especially with the Fairy type being introduced.

The majority of OU pokemon are dual typed.

You need exceptional qualities to get away with being mono-typed. Chansey's ridiculous special bulk, Clefable's abilities and movepool, etc.

Sorry, no amount of shit-tier fanbase wanking will affect how much I like the Pokemon I like. It's got an admittedly poor - albeit appreciatively unique - stat distribution for a Pseudo, two cool pre-evos, three great abilities and I like its Shiny color swaps. It's not my favorite, but, it IS probably my favorite 3 stage Pokemon line to come out of Kalos, to say the least.

Slurpuff's actually pretty great (albeit gimmicky) with the Belly Drum/Unburden set.

If you can clear out all your opponent's steel types it's almost impossible to stop at +6.

Magnezone/Slurpuff is a great combo.

Mega form gets increased bulk and sp. attack. Makes draco meteor hit that much harder. I'd say mega chomp is one of the best, if not the best, wallbreaker in the game. 170 attack, 120 sp. attack, and terrific dragon/ground stab is just terrifying.

After gen 6 Hydreigon deserves a mega evo. Fairy types just completely destroy it.

I'd say, Dragon/steel (since it was originally a cyborg tank) With 170 sp. attack, 118 speed, and mega launcher.

dragon pulse, dark pulse, and flash cannon spam would be glorious.

Give it aura sphere too

I'd take 127.5 bp dragon pulse and 120 bp dark pulse over ground immunity. I was thinking it's mega form would become a wallbreaker with an insane sp. attack stat so an ability that boosts his attack power makes sense. Plus it's based off a tank so mega launcher makes sense.

I can understand keeping levitate would be awesome because it removes the ground weakness (and leaves it only weak to fighting).

It would just be awesome if it had 170+ sp. attack (hell, make it 185 like mega heracross's attack) and either sheer force or mega launcher. That would be utterly terrifying.

Reasonably fast, bulky, SpA gets a nice boost too, and if you so desire, its Atk can also still be used.

While that typing would already 4x resist Water, the ability would punish Water attacks even more and give it slight recovery.

In terms of battling, it's not a terrible Pokemon, but it's rather underwhelming compared to every other psuedo.
