Silver was both edgy and "deepest lore" at the same time, then suddenly he starts slowly changing to POWER OF FRIENDSHIP and fuck if it doesn't get on my nerves. I want him to not be so edgy, but don't make him fucking preachy.
Brendan/May were decent, they were friendly rivals done right. Despite that one battle on Route 110 that made me want to throw my GBA at the wall.
Barry was okay, but the "HURRY UP HURRY UP GET OUT OF MY WAY" got on my nerves. However despite apparent popular opinion I think the way he comes through for you at Spear Pillar is awesome.
Cheren was okay but he felt too "animu nerd boy" to me. And they forced him too hard into the story. He was good in B2W2 as Gym Leader and pseudo-mentor, though.
Bianca was pretty shit. She's not Calem/Serena shit, but she was pretty shit. Even her B2W2 incarnation, which barely did anything, was pretty shit.
Hugh was okay but "muh sister" and "muh rage" got annoying.
Tierno was kind of stupid. The dancing thing got real old real fast, and the only way they expanded on it was having him stand there in Coumarine post-game and give you Heart Scales if you show him a Pokemon that can dance.
Trevor and the "Pokedex battle" was a good concept, but did they REALLY have to make you win no matter what? I can't even remember if it was judged by Pokemon caught or SEEN.
Shauna was okay, even without much of a goal. I wish they could've expanded on her a bit, though. And you only battled her twice.
Calem/Serena was absolute garbage. "ABLOOBLOOBLOO MY LIFE SUCKS BECAUSE I LOSE CONSTANTLY" fucking shut up already for fuck's sake. If GF hadn't made Calem/Serena such a whiny little shit they would be a pretty decent friendly rival, challenging you at certain points while still helping you out against the forces of evil.
