I'll probably go with AS since I played Ruby to death but never did play Sapphire. Shame since I think Archie and Team Aqua are far more bro tier than Maxie and Team Magma.

Ruby has Team Magma, and Sapphire has Team Aqua. Although they could alternate that, but it wouldn't make much sense storywise.

Alpha Sapphire because Team Aqua's cool and they show up a lot more in AS. Also I like all the version exclusives better, though that doesn't really matter much nowadays.

The only downside to the lame turtle is it makes the end of the game way too easy.

I just don't have time to waste on playing two slightly different games, I can at least make some time to play one of them, but there's not enough of a difference between the two to justify wasting my time on buying both.

Then why shouldnt others who have time and want to play both games do so?
I love to restart a game after a while, thats why i have X and Y. Y is my main game with all my good Pokemon and X is my secondary game where i can restart whenever i want to.

I don't know which to get. I grew up with Sapphire on the GBA so I'd go with it to try and wring out as much nostalgia as possible, but I like Ruby's exclusives more and it matches with my copy of Y and the color of my 3DS.

I doubt there'll be a physical pre-order bonus, or at least there won't be a good one.
