You would get outplayed if the other guy took the upper hand by doing something you didnt expect. But in this scenario:

>you either go for the safe attack or switch/boost predicting the switch
>your opponent will either switch to sponge your attack, or stay in expecting you'd predict the switch

You both know each other's options, who gets the upper hand is a coinflip
