I use Tropius for the sweet scent and Lapras for the surf ohKO on low-leveled hordes and cuz Lapras.

What's your team for EV training your pokemon?

I only have a smeargle with me when EV training. It knows surf, fly, sweet scent and heat wave.

You don't, you aim for the Floatzels for the exp. It just that the Geodudes sometimes get in the way and you need to kill them as fast as you can to not lose the Exp-Power before fighting Floatzel hordes.

I use a Vileplume w/ Sweet scent and Petal Blossom or some shit. Can cart around 5 pokemon to EV train and have my all in one area Knockout + Sweet Scent. OHKO everything I need for EVs bar Geodude/Gravler sturdy mother fuckers and is immune to all the shit poweder Weepingbell can hit me with. Usually held LifeOrb when fighting Weepingbell to OHKO but now that it's level 60 it doesn't need it anymore.

It was actually one of my finer moments when playing Pokemon to come up with that, I had previously used a Dragonite for Fly, Surf, Waterfall and filler, but in XY Sweet Scent was an important thing, so I figured Smeargle takes care of everything. Took a moment to set it up but once I did, that thing barely left my team.

I tried to get a Smeargle that knew explosion for a grazy gimmick, now THAT is hard.

You need Smeargle, a Pokemon with Explosion faster than Smeargle, a Pokemon with Damp to prevent the explosion, and then you need to hope that none of your opponents three pokemon actually kill Smeargle before he gets to sketch.

i have like 3-4 smeargles
two as hm slaves, one for ev training and one i forgot what for
never use that
also a talonflame with flambody for egg breeding and a Gallade for catching(which is useless now that i have all pokemon)
after i finished my pokedex i traded for a shiny lvl 100 dragonite which i use to fly around now
just for fun and status

Flame Body only matters when you're hatching eggs/getting touched by other mons

If you're hatching eggs, you're not Horde Battling

When you horde battle, people try to clear all 5 mons in one move - meaning you don't plan on giving the horde a chance to attack

So Flame Body doesn't matter for Hordes.

It may not hinder the process, but there was no point in saying that it has it. Especially when you could just teach Venusaur Equake and Razorleaf

It's useful for getting specific numbers you want that aren't easily divisible by 25 and 30.

Say you wanted a mon with 132 EVs in one stat At some point, you'll have to change how the horde battles are done because, even with vitamins, you can't evenly hit that number without not killing all the mons.

I use it in conjunction - so I'd give whoever I'm training 7 Vitamins (6 if the horde is Weepinbell), do two hordes then super train the last little bit to hit a number like 132.

I also use it when it's raining in game. I have been unlucky enough that it's been raining on the routes that commonly have the horde I need. I've also been horde training and then it suddenly starts to rain.

Almost exactly >>20167429. Rock Slide is only needed for Wingull. It has low accuracy, but I use Return to pick of stragglers and get evo stones from smashing rocks on that route, so it works out. I might swap out Return for Covet since it has more utility.

why aren't you using only a tropius, /vp/? Air Cutter and Razor Leaf hits everything encountered in hordes at least neutrally (except klefki but who cares) and with wide lens you don't have to worry about those pesky 5% misses. Fly gets you back to towns and sweet scent is a given. Fly also lets you hit things 1v1 in case you have a shiny to deal with.
