SMT helped too in terms of also general world mythology.Kids don't particularly get too confused by things like that, if anything odd names and odd characters just make them want to look stuff up. In my opinion at least.
Will it 'kill' Pokemon here? No. Would it be a fun alternative when you're having a Pokemon burn-out? Yes. Level-5 does nice design too. Looks like the series has its own merits besides being similar to Pokemon.
