After I beat the E4 in Black, I wanted to train something else from the new gen, so I grabbed one of these guys and gave him a shot. His first major battle was against Cynthia, who had been systematically wiping my team until I brought him out. The final move of the match ended up being Cynthia suiciding by Brave Birding dear Alexander and suffering mega recoil.

...And now I can't really bring myself to train up a descendant in Y because his species is cancer.

Volcarona saved my ass in B2's postgame all the time.
Mega-Manectric. I had a Manectric for a short while in Emerald, but it had an utterly shit movepool so I quickly ditched it. Tried it again recently and holy shit, it was glorious. The design and movepool were much improved with a mega and gen 5 respectively. I just wish it wasn't so reliant on Hidden Power.

And too many Water types to list. It is my favourite type, after all.

I like Noctowl too, the best "not a bird" pokémon. Good special attacks like Shadow Ball, Hyper Voice, Psychic/Extrasensory, and Air Slash. Good options for status inducing as well, with sleep, confusion, and dream eater.
