Anyone else really dislike the big cities that have started coming up in pokemon games?

Cities like Lumiose and Castellia City are such a pain in the arse to navigate.

Castelia had a very nice vibe that kind of defined the region, but they should make them easier to navigate, I agree. They could split them up into sectors with very clear aesthetic differences and unique features

The big cities would be fine if they stuck to the "saffron city" format with the important buildings arranged in a straight line

Nothing wrong with them in theory, but it's been hit or miss in the execution.

Celadon is decently big, but there's a lot of empty space for instance.

Its obviously modeled after Paris. My problem is that the not-Eiffel Tower is in the center. GF could have kept the circular design without making it convoluted, why they didn't will always be a mystery.

No seriously, it actually wasn't too difficult to navigate. Lumiose City however is a fucking nightmare. Even up to now I still always take a Taxi to the three star restaurant, because finding it on my own is always a daunting task each time.

They need a different perspective so you can use landmarks. You can see the tower from several points in the city, which is pretty nice, but the alleys are easy to fuck up your orientation.
