How would you feel if Hyper Beam (and by extension the Hyper Beam clones) went back to the Gen 1 mechanics? Who would see more use as a result?

Hyper beam can return to its original mechanic and not be OP since normal isnt SE on anything and ghost is immune.

Not sure about roar of time and the starter hidden moves though,a charizard spamming blast burn can get pretty crazy

Probably not, since it doesn't have the raw power of an -ate boosted Hyper Beam or the coverage of a STABbed clone. And 100/110 Attack/Speed isn't all that impressive nowadays. Remember, damn near everything gets Hyper Beam.

Giga Impact is what I meant for Tauros specifically, yeah. It's just that most fully-evolved Pokemon can use Hyper Beam or Giga Impact as well. And vanilla Normal STAB from base 100 attack has shit coverage and power compared to SS Crustle's Rock Wrecker or Yzard's Blast Burn or Mega Gardevoir's Wave of Absolute Destruction. I'd expect to see more of Scarf or Agility Diggersby than Tauros when it comes to Giga Impact abuse.

Yes, provided you're not caught in a recharge.

So if you used Return you could switch the turn after. But if you use Giga Impact, you're trapped until you recharge.
