Not sure if it counts for anything, but as soon as I got the shiny charm I managed to hatch two shiny poochyenas in less than two boxes' worth of eggs (pre-charm was 13 boxes).

i've hatched a lot of eggs since getting the shiny charm and not seen a single shiny

meanwhile i have found 8 shinies in random encounters and hordes. it's all anecdotal evidence but it's something.

Smogon made a test with dozens of guys that all hatched 100s of eggs and came to the conclusion that the chance to hatch a shiny with MM and the charm is around 1:400.
