Emerald and Platinum are definitely two games worth checking out, OP.

Gen 5 ultimately comes down to what you want in a game. BW for plot, BW2 for content.

Ignore gen 6 until we get XY2 or Z.

Colosseum is one of the best Pokemon games hands down.

XD was better in terms of mechanics, but in terms of story and feel for the game, as well as things like music, it was inferior to Colosseum.

Highly recommend both.
