Giving the Pokemon EXP even after catching a wild Pokemon was one of the best fucking things they finally added. I actually had fun catching everything and not having to worry about missing leveling because of it.

In Gen V, Exp. was scaled depending on your level compared to the opponent, it was incredibly useful to raise pokemon from low levels, however as your began to outlevel things you would get very low amounts of exp.

it wasn't exactly -bad-, but it wasn't the best thing either.

It doesn't have to do with EVs, but rather with leveling up.

Basically, in 5th gen the lower level your Pokemon was in comparison to the opposing Pokemon the more experience it gained. So you could bring a level 1 Pokemon to a fight with a level 50 Audino, and it would gain much more experience than if the Audino was at a lower level. Along with being able to find Audinos everywhere, it made powerleveling something to 50 really easy because of the high levels of post-game Pokemon.

IIRC, the exp dropoff after you outleveled them wasn't as bad as the gain for lower level Pokemon. Overall it was almost entirely beneficial compared to normal experience.

Exp Share increases exp, but my complaint with it is that its biggest effect is during campaign which leads to all your Pokemon being overleveled, and isn't as useful (compared to normal Exp Share) post-game since you're usually focused on leveling only a couple Pokemon a whole lot.

Thank god they finally added likiable rivals in XY.

I felt more pity than anything for my rivals in BW. Cheren is good at battling but doesn't love it enough. Bianca loves battling, but she isn't good at it. I just felt sorry for them.

All the rivals in XY sucked. Beyond shit-tier. They were too fucking nice and gay and naiive. You wanted to fucking beat Blue and ??? into the fucking ground because they were dicks. And at least Barry was powerful. All other rivals sucked.

Actually, the BW2 Vegito-hair kid was decent. All the others suck. Wally was an absolute fag, but semi-challenging.

Despite its campaign and post game problems, X/Y probably has the most minor improvements of any game in the series. They fixed so many small annoyances. Hopefully ORAS will have all the content of the originals with all X/Ys little improvements.

This is the one thing for me really. I'm sick of having to rely on 2-4 iv models in the past. Now I don't use anything with less than 5 unless it has shit speed and favors one offensive stat, and even then, I made exceptions, granted Mawile and Avalugg were 2 of my earliest projects
