Juniper/Sycamore refresh your hand and give you 7 new cards
N can destroy an opponents hand and refresh your hand by up to 6 cards
Skyla can grab any Trainer from the deck and Korrina grabs items and energy
Drawing 3 is nice, but other cards give you more cards or can search what you need to set up/in a pinch.
The downside to cheren is he's one of the weakest 'Draw More/Search More' supporters in the game. Playing him means you can't use a better supporter. You should only be using Cheren because you don't have better cards.
In YGO Drawing 2 is good because no other card outright Draws 2 without a draw back. In pokemon, Drawing 3 is bad because there are cards that draw 4-5-6-7+ cards (Bianca/N, Juniper/Sycamore, Colress) with the same stipulation as Cheren (You can only use one supporter a turn)
