Why isn't there a single instance of Normal type moves being super effective against something?
Literally everything else is super-effective against SOMETHING but normal type moves don't really have an edge as far as I know and don't even effect ghost types.

The entire point of Normal is for it to be good against everything, great against nothing. Otherwise it wouldn't be normal, it would have some degree of special something to it.

Ghosts somewhat get a pass on having immunity to it due to Ghosts themselves being abnormal, but the real question is why the fuck there are Types that can resist Normal.

The idea is they are a vanilla type: they hit almost everything for neutral damage and only have one weakness.

Because literally EVERY pokemon learns a normal type move. Thus, the types weak to normal would be absolute trash.

Normal needs a resistance though. Maybe Fairy?

It should have 1 in everything. i.e;
SE against 1 type
NVE against 1 type
Immune to 1 type
Weak to 1 type
Resists 1 type
Does nothing against 1 type

Then it would really be the most vanilla type

So far its got a quirky immunity thing going with Ghost but is resisted by two types, weak to one, resists nothing and isn't SE against anything. Fairy could've been the perfect type for Normal to resist and be SE against.

Because their attacks are "normal" and every pokemon can learn a normal type move so it's not super effective to anything. Also a "normal" person wouldn't be prepared to fight someone who is a trained fighter hence their fighting type weakness

Normal isn't about the moves or the type chart with it. Normal's strengths lie in it absolutely amazing roster.
