I have yet to play the gen 5 games but I feel like finally doing so. Question is, do I play BW or BW2?

If you are going to just play one play 2. They bend over backwards to tell you the story of the first one anyway, and really how can you be lost in a pokemon "story" anyway?

BW2 is nice because it has the gen 5 pokemon but also older gen pokemon

You're probably not going to catch anything worth using in BW anyway, so if the experience of playing VW is better than just playing BW, I would say play the hack.

The base games are actually kind of forgettable.

Well, okay Ash, I say BW first. Hilda > Rosa, if PokeGirls are you're thing. Also I find Snivy's final evolution to be spooky as fuck. Tepig is a good choice due to a lack of fire types.

Play BW2 because less talking. Keep incredibly low expectations for the story and Pokemon available in the game because there are a plethora of shitty designs.

B/W first,they were the most revolutionary main series games and will feel fresh after whatever the games you played. B/W2,however were better overall,but for the continuity of the story it would be idiotic to play them first,so play them after. Also don't shift colours,if you first play Black,follow it with Black 2 and vice versa.
