- Aegislash is OP, use it.
- If the other guy has an infernape then it's gg (maybe not if you have an aegislash)
- mega - aggron laughs at physical attacks and hits like a truck with base 140 attack.
- mega mawile wrecks dragons and pretty much anything that doesn't resist its STAB.
- life orb/SD or chocie band scizor technician bullet punch is awesome.
- metagross is a must. bullet punch/meteor mash, ice punch, thuderpunch, and EQ with a choice band is a great attacking set. Assault vest also works great on it.
- Bisharp gets STAB knock off and can spam sucker punch
- ferrothorn makes a great wall. Just make sure it doesn't switch into any fire type moves.
- air balloon heatran is an amazing offensive SR user. I'd use it as your lead.
- If you can get a sandstorm going then excadrill is a terrifying sweeper.
- skarmory is great for setting up spikes and phazing.
- if you go up against another monosteel team then magnezone wrecks with it's magnet pull and STAB thunderbolt.
You've got lots of solid options. You've got sweepers like scizor, m-mawile, or metagross and tanks like m-aggron, skarmory, and ferrothorn. Just like any other team you can't lock yourself into one strategy and steel type is great because you've got lots of viable strategies and lots of versatile mons. Mons like aggron, metagross, and heatran have tons of viable sets you can choose from.
Fire and fighting teams can be tough. If a fire type sweeper like infernape or megazard x sets up on you you're going to have a hard time unless you have heatran. Fighting is a little more manageable because steel mons like skarmory, scizor, metagross, and ferrothorn take neutral damage. Ground teams are manageable because steel mons like skarmory, metagross, and ferrothron are either immune, can make themselves immune (magnet rise or air balloon) or can tank neutral attacks.
