>>20232436I'm with this guy. The only person who looked intimidating was Lysandre. The rest of the team was pretty incompetent and the grunts were more concerned about being in Team Flare rather then what Team Flare's goals were.
What went wrong? The Kalos region. Team Flare was something people wanted to join, like a Club. The Grunts showed a lack of focus and the entire Kalos region didn't seem to care whenever they did something, unlike with other games. Here's what I mean;
Gen 1 and 2: When Rocket had a presence in a town, they were around and you usually couldn't access everything because you had to defeat Rocket. Lance gets involved in Gen 2..
Gen 3: There were various times when Magma/Aqua were doing things and people took notice. Slateport, Mount Chimney and Sootopolis are main examples of this.Steven becomes involved.
Gen 4: People knew when the lake spirits were taken and something was wrong. Team Galactic and Cyrus' actions were picked up on and responded to Cynthia herself.
Gen 5: Plasma nearly took over the region with N and Adler got btfo trying to stop them. Their effect on Unova was even seen a few years later in the sequel games, where they wreaked even more Havoc.
Gen 6: Lysandre and Diantha are at least acquaintances, but she never involves herself in stopping him. When Team Flare took over the Pokeball Factory and the Power Plant, no one knew what happened or who did it. Only you and your friends did something and the effect they had was limited to just those facilities. I believe people were told that something was up at the Factory and there was a problem at the Plant - that's all the people know.
Lysandre's biggest idea completely flopped and he killed himself in a way America would allow their kids to see it. The other Team Leaders flopped too, but only Lysandre killed himself over it. Cyrus wanted a new world and found it in the Distortion World, so he got what he wanted.
